What inspired you to start GMB Custom Apparel, and how has the business evolved to become a one-stop print shop?

Honestly, GMB started out of pure hustle and passion. I wanted to build something that gave people the power to bring their ideas to life — whether it was a team shirt, a business uniform, or a creative project. Over time, we realized customers needed more than just shirts — they wanted someone who could handle everything under one roof. So, we expanded into embroidery, signage, banners, patches, and promotional products. Now, if it can be branded, we can make it happen.

As a family-owned business in Eastern NC, how do your local roots shape your company culture and customer relationships?

Being family-owned means our customers feel like family too. We treat every project like it’s personal because it is — most of our clients are local schools, small businesses, and community organizations we see every day. Our culture is built on transparency, integrity, and real connection. We’re proud to represent Eastern North Carolina and give back through the same communities that helped us grow.

You offer a wide range of services, from screen printing and embroidery to signage and uniforms. How do you maintain quality across so many areas?

We’ve built systems. Every service has a process — from artwork approvals to production checks. Our team specializes in different areas, but we all hold the same standard: if it wouldn’t make us proud to wear it, it doesn’t leave the shop. We also use professional-grade equipment and take time to double-check every order before it’s packed.

What differentiates GMB from other print shops, and how do you make sure customers recognize that difference?

We don’t just print shirts — we build brands. A lot of print shops stop at taking your order; we go deeper. We help design, organize, and even launch your merch store or team gear. Our customer service is hands-on, and we’re transparent when things don’t go perfectly — we fix it fast. That honesty and care are what people remember and what keeps them coming back.

Looking ahead, what are your goals for the next few years, new markets, services, or expansion plans?

We’re focused on expanding our footprint — opening new locations, tapping into collegiate licensing, and growing our online presence. We’re also investing more into same-day DTF printing, ecommerce stores for schools and businesses, and eventually adding a full design lab experience where customers can create in real time.

The site mentions same-day service for in-stock items. How do you decide where to prioritize speed versus craftsmanship?

We always start by asking what the customer needs most — if it’s for an event tomorrow, we move fast but never skip steps that affect quality. We’ve learned how to streamline without cutting corners. Some jobs need speed; others need precision — our team knows how to balance both.

How do you ensure consistent color, sizing, and print quality from design to finished product?

How do you help schools or sports programs balance affordability, speed, and quality?

We create packages that make sense for their budget and deadlines. For example, we offer bulk pricing with optional add-ons like personalization. We also help them avoid rush fees by setting up online stores ahead of the season so players and parents can order directly. It saves everyone time and money.

How do you handle bulk team orders while keeping customization for each player?

We’ve got a system that tracks every name, number, and size before we print. Each item gets labeled, folded, and bagged individually so there are no mix-ups. It looks professional and makes distribution easy for coaches and organizers.

How do you handle issues like misprints, sizing discrepancies, or quality concerns?

We own our mistakes. If something’s off, we fix it — no excuses. We’d rather replace or redo a job than have a customer walk away unhappy. That’s part of our brand — transparency and making it right, every time.

Can customers bring in their own garments or fabrics, or do you only print on in-house inventory?

We only accept outside garments in limited cases, like for corporate uniforms or specific brands that fit their dress code. Otherwise, we use our in-house inventory because we know how it reacts under heat and print conditions — that’s how we guarantee quality results.

How do you make sure colors on-screen match what’s printed on fabric?

Screens can be tricky, so we always use Pantone color matching and test prints. Our design team adjusts based on the fabric type, since cotton and polyester absorb color differently. Customers also get digital proofs and, when needed, physical samples before we go into full production.

What’s been the biggest challenge in scaling the business while keeping up with custom orders and turnaround times?

One of our biggest challenges as we’ve grown has been maintaining the personal touch our customers have always appreciated. For a long time, Myke handled everything himself—every text message, every conversation, every detail of every order. But as demand increased, we knew we had to evolve.


We introduced streamlined intake systems, built a strong team around us, and committed to being fully transparent about timelines. Through it all, one thing has remained at the heart of our business: clear, honest communication. And to be completely real—we’re still improving this process every day.

What’s been your proudest moment as owner, and what’s something you wish you’d known earlier?

Proudest moment? Seeing our work all over the community — schools, events, businesses — and knowing it came out of our shop.


What I wish I knew earlier: charge what you’re worth and set policies early. It saves a lot of headaches.

How does innovation factor into your work, like printing, rhinestones, or full uniforms?

We like to stay ahead. When customers start asking for something new — rhinestones, DTF, full-team kits — we test it, add it, and make it part of our services. Innovation for us is just listening to what people actually want.

 What trends in custom apparel are you most excited about right now?

I love the personalization side — teams wanting player packs, schools wanting online stores, and brands wanting small runs but high quality. Also DTF and mixed-media looks are big right now.

Do you offer design or branding help for schools that don’t have in-house designers?

Yes. A lot of schools don’t have a designer, so we help with logos, layouts, and spirit wear ideas. We can even set up an online store so they can fundraise without touching inventory.

What types of ECU products are you able to create now that you’re licensed?

We can produce a wide range of officially licensed items — everything from T-shirts, hoodies, varsity jackets, hats, tote bags, and drinkware to banners, decals, and car magnets. If it carries the ECU name or Pirate branding, we make sure it meets all licensing standards so customers get the real deal.

GMB Custom Apparel is more than a print shop—it is the result of a faith-filled leap, late nights in a garage, and a deep commitment to serving people with excellence. Myke and Shana made a life-changing decision to leave Youngstown, Ohio, and relocate to Greenville, North Carolina, to grow in their careers. Shana worked as an oncology nurse, and Myke served as a certified project manager (PMP) in a corporate hospital setting. Both were devoted to caring for others, but they felt a strong pull to build something of their own that blended creativity, service, and community. With no family in the area and a desire to create additional income and real connections, they launched Get Me Bedazzled—a custom bling brand creating sparkling apparel for dance studios, bridal parties, gymnastics teams, and more.


The business began in the most humble way possible: out of their garage. Myke took a major step of faith and quit his corporate job to focus on growing the business full-time, while Shana balanced nursing and entrepreneurship. Orders were created at home, one rhinestone design at a time. Through dedication, word of mouth, and genuine relationships, the demand quickly grew, and the business eventually outgrew the garage and moved into a brick-and-mortar location. Just as they stepped into that new chapter, the world changed—COVID-19 hit, and everything shut down.


What could have been the end of their dream became a powerful turning point. Through faith in Jesus Christ, persistent hard work, and the support of loyal customers and a dedicated team, the business not only survived but transformed. Get Me Bedazzled evolved into GMB Custom Apparel, expanding from bling to a full-service custom print provider. As they listened closely to their customers, they recognized a growing need for more than just rhinestones. Customers were asking for embroidery, screen printing, promotional products, signs, banners, team uniforms, large-format printing, business cards, and complete branding solutions. Responding to those needs, GMB Custom Apparel grew into a true one-stop print partner, retaining the initials “GMB” as a nod to its Get Me Bedazzled roots while elevating its identity and services.

    We are located in Greenville NC, Pitt County.  We recently moved so our address may not appear in google searches. Our current address is 3504 Lena Lane, Greenville NC

  • What's your MOQ?

    We now offer no minimums for  DTF services,  but the MOQ for screen printing is 24. You can combine various styles, sizes, and colors, but the design must remain consistent.


    For Embroidery projects- there is a $45 minimum (equivalent to 3 items). 


    Personalizations and Monograms are No Miniumums 

  • How are your prices?

    At GMB Custom Apparel, we believe in providing transparent and straightforward pricing. Our prices are at least 10-15% less than our competitors, so you can rest assured that you're getting tremendous value. 


    In addition to our competitive pricing, we offer discounts to ECU Health hospital employees, senior citizens, military personnel, and ECU Students. We believe in giving back to our community and supporting those who have served our country and our community.

    Depending on the size of your order, delivery takes 3-5 business days for smaller orders and 7-10 days for larger ones.


    We'll guide you throughout to ensure the service meets your expectations. Once the quote is accepted, details will be finalized.


    We also offer same-day rush embroidery, provided the apparel is in stock and we have your logo digitized on file. (Additional fees apply.) Recognizing urgent needs, we ensure speedy embroidery for our valued customers.

  • Do you accept customer-provided merchandise for monogramming?

     We only allow customers to bring in their merchandise if A company requires a specific shirt we do not have in stock. 


    While we take every measure to ensure precision, we suggest bringing extra merchandise to account for potential issues during production that are unforeseen to us. In such cases, GMB CUSTOM APPAREL isn't liable for any damage or loss to the customer's merchandise.


    We recognize the value of your custom items and commit to a seamless and meticulous production process. Still, while we aim for perfection, we can't promise an entirely issue-free experience. Therefore, having additional merchandise on hand is advised to meet your expectations fully.


    All orders carry a minimum invoice of $40. This pricing allows us to uphold our commitment to delivering top-quality custom apparel and promotional items, ensuring our unwavering standard of excellence.

  • Do you provide manufacturing services?

    We most certainly do!! Our Brand Ambassador program is designed for new clothing brands looking to expand their business and get recognized through personalized embroidery, screen prints, or bling imprints. Our comprehensive services include designing logos and inventorying garments to merchandise printing, bagging, tagging, and blind drop shipping.


    During the program, we will review your business plan and product launch and create a custom showroom with your selected products at our partnership rates. So, when a customer buys a product from your store, we charge you a wholesale price to produce the item, and you can then charge your customer a retail price. Once the order is placed, you will log into our secure portal and pay us the wholesale price. Upon receiving your order details, we will produce, pack, and blind drop ship the product on your behalf.


    Enrolling in our Brand Ambassador program starts at $300. It includes a brand consultation, designs and set up, discounted ambassador pricing, digitizing files, setting up your showroom, and much more, such as shirt tags, poly bag labels, and hang tags. Our team will guide you through the process and provide transparency on pricing.
